Magnetometry

The magnetic prospection is a technique based on the measurement and study of the variations of the terrestrial magnetic field, obtaining measurements of the total value of the magnetic field or, optionally, of the gradient of this magnetic field. These variations are due to the presence of bodies that can be magnetized and that, for this reason, contribute to modify the terrestrial magnetic field in its environment.

Main applications:

  • Geological and Mining Exploration.
  • Measurement of rock properties.
  • Soil contamination studies.
  • Search for buried objects and bodies.
  • Location of buried metallic objects.
  • Detection of buried mines, grenades and howitzers.
  • Archaeology.
