ICEFREE is a fixed automated anti-icing spray system designed specifically for highway and roadway applications to prevent the formation of ice on the pavement on bridges and shaded sections.

This automated anti-icing system uses AIMST (Automated Ice Melting Sprinkler Technology) and monitors pavement conditions of roads, bridges, or structures continuously to detect critical thresholds of different environmental parameters, and automatically trigger the spraying of a liquid chemical solution just before freezing conditions occur.

The sprayer applies the solution effectively to the pavement surface under different weather conditions. The system will continue to monitor conditions and will automatically reapply the antifreeze chemical repeatedly if the chemical becomes diluted or will deactivate the program in case of heavy snow. The system needs to be deactivated because the ICEFREE system is designed as an anti-icing solution, not as a snow removal system.
